He developed his taste for scents in his mother’s kitchen, but it was a harvest of jasmine one summer in Grasse that sealed the fate of Florian Gallo, perfumer at Firmenich. After studying at ISIPCA, he joined the Robertet school in Grasse, where he became passionate about natural materials. Posted in Buenos Aires for a year, he then joined Firmenich as the first perfumer at the new Atelier de Parfumerie Fine in Shanghai for 3 years and now he based in Paris. He is enthusiastic about new technologies that enrich his palette as a perfumer, artificial intelligence, which he sees as a powerful source of ideas, and the latest advances in sensory studies that help to better understand the powers of a fragrance. Florian Gallo won SFP’s 2019 Creative Perfumer Award.
